Contraception method-Hormonal methods

Hormonal methods are that birth control that acts on the endocrine glands. Hormonal method of birth control is base on two hormones, First is Estrogen and the second is Progesterone. These hormones, progesterone and estrogen are taken by mouth or it can also be inserted into the body tissue.
Hormonal methods are very effective in preventing pregnancy except that it cannot protect you from sexually transmittable diseases. It is the most widely used contraception in females. Below are hormonal methods.
• Implants. Implants are used by women who in many ways an estrogen is impossible to use. An implant provides three years of protection from pregnancy, and after three years, the device can be removed when the mother wants to have a baby still.
• Oral contraceptive Pill. Oral contraceptive Pill is the most common and the most popular kind of birth control method. It has different device of action. It prevents ovulation and fertilization. There are two types of oral contraceptive pill, one is the progesterone pill only and the other is a combination of progesterone and estrogen.
• Shots. Shots birth control is a synthetic hormone that is injected via intramuscular. Example of this is the depo provera
• Trans dermal Patch. Trans dermal patch is a medicated pad place on the upper arm and buttocks to prevent pregnancy. When using Trans dermal patch, make it sure that you are tested for skin allergy. Trans dermal patch can cause skin rashes and itching.
• Vaginal ring. Vaginal ring is a thin transparent and flexible ring which is inserted to the vagina to provide protection from STD and to prevent pregnancy. Vaginal ring can be used for three days after which, the vaginal ring should be discard right away. The vaginal ring releases estrogen and progesterone hormones gradually into the body. The hormones will stop the woman from ovulating and it thickens the cervical mucus so that sperm cannot enter the uterus.
