Why Breast Milk is Best for Babies

There are many infant formulas that promise good nutrition to your little ones. When you see the label, those infant formulas are full of promising vitamins and minerals needed for the development of your baby, both physically and mentally. Yes all of those infant formulas can give the right nutrition your baby needs. But breast milk is still best for babies.
Each mammal (we are mammals) produces their own milk to feed their babies. Mothers also can produce milk which is suitable for her baby. Though infant formula (from cows milk) can also sustain the necessary nutrients it give, but there is one thing that an infant formula can not compare breast milk.
The babies easily get colds and can feel cold easily because of their fragile condition, so they need more fats because fats can block cold. Breast milk has the right amount of fats needed for babies to keep them warm. Cow’s milk also has fats, but it is a synthesize fat formula. This is the reason sometimes our baby feel bad on their stomach.
The hormonal level of an infant changes right after he is born, in connection with this hormonal changes among babies, the mother also undergo some hormonal changes. By this time, mom produces more milk in preparation for feeding the baby. The colostrums, which is not found in all infant formulas, is a yellowish sticky milk from mother and is said to be very nutritious. Colostrums are good for baby’s digestive system too. It acts as a mild laxative in passing out the meconium (first baby’s stool). It also produces gestational jaundice and act as antibodies.
Breast milk has lower protein content compared to cow’s milk or infant formula. But does not mean deficiency in protein, in fact there is good news on it. Human babies should grow and mature gradually through a process not like animals where they grow and mature in just a couple of months. What the baby need is a strong bones and brain development. Brain development is often times nourished when there is bond between mother and child.
Breast milk has a natural laxative for easy digestion and elimination of fecal wastes. Breast milk fats contain enzymes which is necessary for better digestion and absorption of foods. There a lot of benefits breast milk can give. There is no infant formula that can beat breast milk.
