Throughout the baby’s journey from infancy to toddler, hiccup is a normal thing he will experience regularly. This normally happen when a baby is excited after he eats. Hiccups are a normal behavioral activity to synchronize his reflexes.
The true reason for baby’s hiccup is because the baby’s internal organs are not fully developed yet. As your baby grows, his internal organs are also maturing. When the internal organ matures, so is the hiccup disappear gradually.
Hiccup happens when the diaphragm and the muscles contacts vigorously which is because the diaphragm is not fully developed yet. When a baby achieved its normal breathing, hiccup will just go naturally.
As parents you can do nothing to stop your baby’s hiccup. Not even breathing can take away your baby’s hiccup. The only thing that you can do is to wait for hiccup to disappear. In some instances, burping after feeding can decrease hiccup, but the moment your baby starts to have a hiccup, there is no way you can do to stop it.
A hiccup can be very disturbing to infants most especially so that infants can only cry to let his parents or anyone know that he is bothered with hiccup. Much more so that it gives a discomforting feeling to his parents. As the baby grows his hiccup will gradually disappear, but until hiccup bothers you and your baby, an extra patient should be your number one good traits.
Parents though do not suffer from hiccups, but they are the most bothered and affected when their baby suffers from hiccup. This is because all through out the day, while your baby is suffering hiccup, he would cry and cry. Since parents can not do anything to appease of what their baby is feeling, then are affected literally. |
