Babysister Babysitting Safety
How babysitters can ensure water safety of the kids

babysitters ensure safety of kids

It has been observed that about nine to ten children who have been drowned were actually supervised by adults or teenagers who do not pay much attention to them. It is very important for sitters to watch the kids closely when they play in water because children can be drowned in as little water as it fills to their mouth and nose and it can send them to death.

Children can be unconscious with in 2 minutes and they can have brain damage in less than 6 minutes in the presence of water. It has been observed that large number of toddlers and infants drowning occur in home rather than in pool or in spa. The main reason for this drowning is the carelessness by the parents or by the care giver. Large number of toddlers and infants are found to be drowning in relatives or a friend’s pool when parents visit their relatives or friends.

To prevent such type of events sitters should make sure that toddlers and infants are not left alone. There should be isolation barriers around pools and spas to prevent such type of events. Sitters should always keep rescue equipment with themselves when children are playing in pool and in spas and sitters should watch them closely and carefully.
