Pregnancy Loss-Molar Pregnancy

Molar pregnancy also called hydatidiform mole is some kind of abnormal placenta. Father’s chromosomes contribute more to the development of molar pregnancy (H mole). In fact it is basically the male’s chromosomes that form an H mole. There are no known cases where H mole comes from the mother’s chromosomes. A molar pregnancy has no embryo in the uterus. What develops an embryo is the abnormal growth of placental tissue.
A molar pregnancy is classified into two, the complete molar pregnancy and the partial molar pregnancy. In complete molar pregnancy, the placenta and embryo are being munched completely by molars due to abnormal growth of placental tissue. This molar form like grape fruit cluster and fill the entire uterus. Partial molar pregnancy, it is only the placenta that grows abnormally and forms a molar like grape fruit cluster. But because of the presence of molars, the embryo develops a crucial deformity and cannot survive. The molars grow significantly bigger and progressively than the embryo. Though there is an embryo, but it is very difficult for the embryo to survive.
A molar pregnancy can cause severe and spontaneous bleeding. It will also lead to abnormal cells like trophoblastic disease. Trophoblastic disease is sometimes the cause of women cancer. Thus, cancer metastasizes to different parts of the body.
A molar pregnancy develops when there is chromosomal imbalance to males. When a sperm fertilized the egg, abnormal chromosomes divides into two and develops a complete molar pregnancy. A partial molar pregnancy happens when the normal ovum is fertilized by two normal sperm cells. Basically the normal process of implantation, only one sperm should fertilize the egg, then having two sperm to fertilized the ovum will most likely to develop a partial molar pregnancy.
The number one contributing factor of a molar pregnancy is the male chromosomes, but a woman is most likely to be affected with molar pregnancy when, she is over thirty five years old. A previous history of molar pregnancy would most likely be repeated. As the saying goes, “history repeat it self” and when a woman lacks vitamin A in her diet. It is very important to drink milk and take vitamin A supplements when you are trying to get pregnant.
