Pregnancy Loss-Abortion

Abortion is the most controversial debate issue in some countries. And the most common medical procedures performed. It is a procedure to end or terminate pregnancy by the use of instruments. Abortion is a legal practice in some countries but there are other countries like the southern part of Asia where abortion is a criminal offense.
Abortion is subdivided into two parts, the Spontaneous abortion and the Induced abortion. A spontaneous abortion is that abortion which cannot be avoided, or is not aborted by the use of instruments. It could be due to accidents or natural causes like miscarriage, or chromosomal defect.
An Induced abortion on the other hand is that abortion which had been manipulated by an instrument. Though the use of instrument depends on the gestational age of the fetus or an embryo, like when it is on the first month, you can just take medicine to abort the embryo, or drinking of herbal that is abortifacient is also effective, older than that will need instruments to take away the fetus from your womb. Induced abortion is considered as therapeutic when it is done because of the following condition,
• The life of a mother is in danger like for example when the mother has terminal illness.
• When a pregnant woman has mental illness
Women who undergo abortion may suffer from pain and blood lost. Possible complications may also arise like inability of the mother to conceive after a series of abortion. Infection may also rise especially when the instrument used is non sterile.
Abortion is dangerous to the health of a woman because it may lead to death due to blood lost. No matter how dangerous it is, still it is a woman’s prerogative whether she would proceed to abortion or not. The decision to take an abortion should be planned carefully in order to avoid regret later.
