How to administer Rescue Breathing for Infant

How to administer Rescue Breathing for Infant

If an emergency occurs while you baby-sit for infant than quickly call to 911 for help. Check out whether the child is on a safe place or whether its pulse is running or not. Try to open baby’s airway by placing your head on baby’s forehead and one hand under his chin and putt it upright enough that baby’s mouth open naturally.

Note down whether baby’s chest is rising or not and give him a puff of air by covering his mouth and nose with your mouth if baby is not breathing. If you feel the pulse than try to locate the brachial artery, this will be located on the inside of the upper arm by using your index and middle finger.

If you feel the pulse but unable to feel the breathing than give the baby a puff of air after every 3 seconds and check out carefully that whether it’s working or not. Again try to feel the pulse and breathing by bringing your ear close to his nose or by checking the rise of baby’s chest and call to 911 quickly. Continue doing this until the help arrives for the baby.
